The PLAN

Below is my plan draft layout for where rooms will be situated in the building Bridge. The school consists of three levels:

Level one: Will incorporate the main rooms such as the staff rooms, bathrooms, the classrooms and extension connections to the adjacent buildings (NIDA and Aquatic centre)

Level two: includes the library, auditorium, meeting rooms, computer labs, workshop areas.

Level three: is the stress relief deck.. My theory of students living under stressful conditions to perform gave me the idea to provide them with a place that lets them escape the studying vibe and brings them to a more natural environment. I thought about things that would help to relieve this stress such as including a running track for exercise around the deck, a rainforest like sanctuary to connect with nature and greenery, lots of open spaces, seating areas for socialisation and relaxing.

I wanted to make the school somewhere that allowed the students to want to learn in this environment and enjoy their surroundings and enjoy the feel of it.

I also used things such as curved walls, open spaces, glass sun lights, common spaces, colour, wood for warmth and nature (trees) to help reduce the effects of stress on the students and provide a creative working space.

STUDENT REVIEW

Real time image captures of the developed lumion environment...

THE BRIDGE

The glass sunlights run around the top of level one and two to allow for extra natural sunlight into the levels. These are also tinted to prevent the harsh sun burning the inside.

I used a large amount of curves derived from my perspective draft bridge to help with the idea of a creative place for students replacing what otherwise would have been plain boring rectangular walls and rooms. You can also see that i have incorporated a large proportion of trees and natural environment

THE DECK

Also incorporates the sunshades which are tinted to prevent too much harsh sun to come through, the sunshades also move in direction of the sun to provide shade spots above seating areas.

The connection to Nida on the bottom left of the image also includes the common room.

Feature walls on the upper deck...

THE AUDITORIUM

The curved glass ceiling also has a shade that darkens the room for when it needs to be dark inside the auditorium and when the sun is too harsh...

THE OPEN CLASSROOM

THE GALLERY

THE LIBRARY

The library has a glass wall and ceiling to provide for the view and connection to outside. The glass is also tinted to stop too much sun from coming in and heating up the room too much.

THE COMPUTER ROOMS

Sliding doors in the middle move to allow the rooms to connect and make one big room for meetings or even for spaces such as workshop to be bigger.

THE EXTENSIONS

The common room below allows for a relaxation spot for students

Below is the bridge connection to the aquatic centre allowing for students to access the exercise they need and also to promote it to relieve stress
